Knight Riders & Royal Champions win !

In a low scoring match, Deccan Chargers fought and lost narrowly. The Knight Riders were 21/3, when they were let off the hook by DC. The captain did not give Vas the 4th over. After 21/3, there was a retrieving stand. David Hussey, the brother of Mike Hussey, won the game for the Knight Riders !

In the other match, Dravid's men won against the Mumbai Indians, who were handicapped by the absence of Tendulkar. Sweet innings by Virat Kohli (23),Dravid (32), Jack Kallis (25), Ross Taylor ( 23), 39 off 19 balls by Mark Boucher saw the Royal Challengers home.

For Mumbai, Uthappa scored 44, Jayasuria 28, Pollock 28, A Nayar 20, out of a total of 165.

IPL, Word's greatest League, kicks off !

In the IPL League, Indian players have failed so far. This is due to the pressure of playing before home crowd where reputation is at stake. Maybe they will come back into their elements.

On the other hand, we fnd that foreign players are doing well. Hopes, Mccullum, Hussy are are finding IPL a paradise.

IPL has clicked and T20 is here to stay.

One cannot say which team is the best. Robin Jackman says his favourite is the Deccan Chargers, who has got Afridi, Symonds, Gilchrist and Gibbs in their team. It is skippered by the well experienced VVS Laxman,

Hussy’s magnificent 116 no proves how the Grinders can take away the match single handedly. He became another McCullum, who scored a record 158 not out off 73 balls.

Foreign players are performing better in IPL than Indian players.

The highest rated team amongst the bookies is the Knight Riders. Second comes the Chennai Super Kings and third the Deccan Chargers.

Royals are facing an acute player shortage. Most of the Pak players will reach only on Tuesday and will not be there for the Monday, when they take on the Punjab Kings.

India takes sweet revenge !

India spins out RSA for 121 and wins the Final Test.

Now in ICC Rankings, India is still No 2, in Tests.

A great innings of 87 by Ganguly and some five fours by Sreesanth ( 29) saw India reach 325 in the second innings.

Then the Indian spinners took over. Bajji with his 4/44 and Sehwag with his 3/12 spun out RSA for 121 !

Sreesanth drew first blood when scalped McKenzie. That was his 50th wicket in 13 Tests !

Now all eyes are on IPL,where 8 great teams, full of international players, struggle for supremacy. IPL is supported by Bollywood and Industry and this League will be a force to reckon with in the days to come. ICL is also offering stiff challenge, as it is full of professionals !

The very champagne of Cricket !

We had incredible cricket matches !

2 balls, 10 runs needed and Chanderpaul hits a four and a six and gives WI a one wicket fantastic victory !

Ishant Sharma, Bajji and Chowla bowl out SA for 265. India comes back after the post-lunch session.

In the ICL matches, ICL India defeats ICL Pak, thanks to a 63 off 47 balls by Khaleel and a 29 not out by the skipper R Satish.

For SL, Kapugudera hit 95 and SL was all out for 235. Chasing 235, WI were nine down and 13 runs were needed in the last over. Out of 4 balls, only 3 runs were got. So the equation was 10 runs off 2 balls and Chanderpaul hit a four and a six and brought home the bacon !

At Kanpur, Dhoni's captaincy paid off. He brought some intelligent changes and his bowlers Ishant, Bajji and Chawla bowled superbly, restricting RSA to 265 !

The main cause of India's defeat is IPL, says Gavaskar

Gavaskar has come out with the statement that it was IPL which was the main cause of India's defeat.

Under the influence of largesse, Indian players have forgotten India !

Previously, even with a slight injury players were ready to prove their fitness and play for the country.

Now the situation has reversed, with the players ready to sit outside, lest they aggravate their injury.

Previously, fielders gave 100%, to save boundaries and sixes. Now the situation has changed, with the fielders not exerting fully, lest they be injured. Injury means they will not be able to play for IPL and earn fabulous sums ! As many as 81 fours were conceded to the South Africans in the First Test.

Instead of playing for the country and gaining glory thereby, most of the players are now spending more time for the multi-crore IPL. This, says India's veteran, is responsible for the Indian defeat.

The defeat suffered by India is humiliating. There are players who have not fielded for two days ! This behaviour has amazed many, says Gavaskar.

Indian players have not played Test after end Jan. Most of them were more interested in jumping at the function hosted by the bosses of IPL.

Gavaskar appealed to Gary Kirsten to bring all players under one umbrealla.

It is evident that the players coming from abroad will be enthusiastic when going home. But in a series in India, after coming from home, why try to fly home after one week ? This overenthusiasm fuels suspicion. Whip is needed for this problem, says the ex-batsman.

Instead of training for dance, players should correct themselves. They are up against a formidable pace trio, perhaps, the most potent fast bowling attack in the world. At least on current form. Steyn is ranked No 1. If Indian players cannot do the modifications, all the good name gained during the Tour Down Under will go down the drain.

This is a very critical time for Indian criket. If India cannot win the 3rd Test, she will be replaced from the No 2 spot !
