Spinning allrounders give India the edge : Dravid

There are a lot of experienced batsmen who can bowl spin and this gives India a tremendous advantage on the spinning tracks of India, says Dravid.

"India are obviously one of the favourites. They have been playing well for a number of years. Its a well-balanced side with a number of spinning all-rounders or part-time bowlers, which gives India a big advantage," said India's Test batting hero.

Meanwhile, Afridi has been retained as Pak skipper and Misbah his deputy. Some key players and ex players were against the decision and hence the delay. ( Salman Butt had requested the board to appoint Misbah ).

Lankans feels the same, like Indians. This is a big battle on home turfs ! Why not gift the WC as a gift to Murali? Subcontinental conditions are home conditions. In all probability, this WC will be the swan song of Murali and Sachin.

Sri Lanka rose in World Cricket, after the grand assault launched by Kalu and Jaya. They changed the way one day cricket is played. " Hit them, hit them and then hit them" said Jayasuriya, who was a terror to all opponents. Now SL are considered good contenders in one day cricket. With their ability to peak at the correct moment and as a team which revels in home conditions, they present a formidable challenge. Their team looks as strong as India and Australia on paper.

SL has good replacements for Vaas, Jaya, Kalu and Ranatunge. Malinga, Tharanga, Sanga, Mahela, Dilshan, Mathews and Mendis rose as good replacements for the aging veterans. Forget not that SL were last WC's finalists !
