Warne's prediction becomes controversial !
Warne's prediction that the Eng India match will end in a tie ( A cracker of a match. I predict a tie ) has ended in controversy. He tweeted that seven hours before the match began.
Fortunes fluctuated in that mammoth match in which Cricket, not England or India, won.
Even though Strauss said that such a prediction proved Warne's scholarship, many eyebrows were raised. Has Warne got Trikalajnana, knowledge of past, present and future ?
Even though nobody is bringing any allegations against the formidable Aussie leggie, many a suspicion has been aroused in the cricket lover's bosom, feels Pak's ex skipper, Moin Khan.
Suspicions were aroused when India,at one stage, 300/3, slumped to 338 all out. And when England, well placed at 240 odd for two, lost six wickets. Suspicions were aroused when the match ended in a tie, a result predicted by the Aussie leggie !
Suspicions were also aroused when Ian Bell, was ruled not out by Bowden. Bell saw the replay and was walking off to the pavilion. The English commentator, Nazir Hussain said " Whether it was 2.5 meters or 3.5 meters or 4.5 meters, it was out". The crowd, when they heard Hussain's statement roared, crying " Cheaters, cheaters, cheaters" !
When the match was moved from Calcultta to Bangalore, again suspicions were aroused. Dalmiya, President of Bengal Cricket Association, cried foul ! ( The Bangalore crowd were knowledgeable. The Calcutta crowd on the other hand, burnt chairs and decimated the Stadium when India were 140/8, in the semi final against Lanka in 1996. Just imagine what would have happened, if the match was in Calcutta ! )
Rasheed Latif, former Pak wicket keeper, opined that the league matches can be fixed. He wants to take revenge for his banned countrymen !
