Dhoni greatest Indian captain ever : Akram

Wasim Akram, the legendary Pak pace bowler, has seconded Sachin's statement that Dhoni is the greatest Indian captain ever.

"Dhoni performed very well in the last four years. He has evolved as a leader, not just as a cricketer. In my opinion, if you see his records, he is definitely the best captain India ever had," Akram said.

The great Pak bowler, a member of the 1992 WC winning squad, praised the Indian team for their triumph at home.

"I have been there as a World Cup winner. I know the feeling, the excitement and what it is to win the World Cup. Indians were the favourites to win the World Cup and they did it.
"I want to congratulate the Indian team for winning the World Cup and obviously the whole nation. Enjoy the success, you deserve it."

Dhoni, as a child had watched Sachin, his hero, play in the 1992 WC. Dhoni modelled himself after that legend, who scored more than 32 K runs international cricket.

Kirsten, the exiting coach, said that Team India felt ' a sense of Destiny' ! Mental toughness, which was absent before crept in and even when wickets fell, the impregnable Indian batting did not choke !

Shane Warne said it is not easy to replace Gary Kirsten. There is a theory that Shane Warne himself may be appointed as India's coach.
