Some interesting WC stats




Yuvraj became the first player in the WCs to score more than 300 runs and take 15 wickets !

India's 5.79 runs per over is the highest in this World Cup. India scored more than 2000 runs in this WC.The run rate of 2011 WC was 5.03 runs per over. This was the best performance so far.

Twenty Four hundreds were scored in this WC as against 21 in 03 WC. 103 half centuries scored are second only to the 111 notched up in 2007.

Indian batsmen scored 5 centuries and 13 fifites, giving a total of 18 fifties, the highest for any team, in this WC. SL were second with 15 fifties.

The highest strike rate was achieved by Sehwag who scored 380 off 310 balls, a strike rate of 122.5. He was followed by Bram Villiers, who had a strike rate of 108.2.

The most runs by a pair was 800, by Dilshan and Taranga.

The win loss ratio for teams batting first

Teams batting first 24 matches against 23 losses. In WC 2007, it was exactly 1, as 25 wins and 25 losses were recorded !
