Covering the impact of IPL on retail, hospitality and tourism, and also local economy, the study has completed the first phase and has given suggestions to improve transportation facilities to generate more revenue.

Fans from all over the state will flock to the formidable Kochi stadium, with KTK team in the fray.

Kochi had over 650 buses plying along, out of which 150 surrendered permits due to heavy losses. This scenario can be changed if the authorities launch initiative to cash in on the IPL boom. The buses can be allowed to make extra services in accordance with timings of the match. 19500 INR can be generated as extra revenue for A/C buses and 16400 INR for non A/C buses. per match day. This, if implemented, can give relief to the ailing transportation sector, averrs the study
